University Recipient Of An Award

Mid-America Christian Is Applauded

The Earlywine Park branch of the YMCA named Mid-America Christian University its Service to Youth award-winner.

University coaches and student athletes run free clinics for youngsters involved in soccer, basketball and volleyball programs at the Earlywine branch.

The branch holds its league games and clinics at the university.

“Because of its ‘Servant’s Spirit,’ Mid-America Christian has saved the Y thousands of dollars,” president of the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, said.

“The university truly lives its mission and the mission of the YMCA by investing its time and talent in the Oklahoma City community.”

YMCA board of directors member Tricia Everest said the community without volunteers like the coaches and staff at Mid-America Christian.

“They provide leadership and talent that is vital to empowering Oklahomans to learn, grow and thrive. MACU has made a meaningful impact in the lives of others.”
