As funeral services were held Monday afternoon—to lie to rest a reputed to be gang-member killed in a shoot-out a few days ago—gun shots rang out outside a northeast Oklahoma City church.
At least two victims were shot.
Police said they have arrested a suspect in connection to the shooting and are looking for others.
Terrance Britton, 20, has been arrested on complaints of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and attempting to elude.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, emergency crews were called to the Greater New Zion Baptist Church (near NE 28th Street and N. Kelley Avenue).
Police said officers had been placed at the church in anticipation of possible trouble at the funeral.
Police said they believe an orange or red Charger pulled up to the church and opened fire, striking two victims.
The extent of the injuries suffered by the victims was not reported.
Crews closed Kelley Avenue so drivers needed to find alternate routes.
