Two students at Mid-America Christian University have been selected for a prestigious national choir.
Music majors Jonathan Herald and James Brooks were recently accepted into the 2019 National American Choral Directors Association, a collegiate honor choir Admission into the choir is the highest honor available for American choir members in high school and college. Eddie Vandewalker is chairman of the university’s School of Music.
To audition for a spot in the choir, the students had to learn and perform a Latin choral song chosen by the convention committee as well, as record a song of their own choosing and a scale specific to their voice part.
Early next year, the two will travel to the association’s convention in Kansas City, Mo., where they will spend three days in rehearsal before performing in two concerts in March ..To read more, subscribe to the blackchronicle newspaper
