Honoring a king: Lupita Nyong'o salutes Chadwick Boseman's "Rolling Stone" cover

Lupita Nyong'o is honoring her Black Panther co-star Chadwick Boseman's

(LOS ANGELES) -- Lupita Nyong'o is honoring her Black Panther co-star Chadwick Boseman's Rolling Stone cover with her own spot-on recreation of it.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Nyong'o posted an image that showed Chadwick's photo side-by-side with her own. In the photo, just like Chadwick, Lupita is also bare-chested and wearing a fur-lined jacket.

“Imitation is the best form of flattery: @chadwickboseman I admire your quiet, confident, regal nature. You brought the wealth of all your knowledge, wisdom and physicality to T’Challa,” she wrote, captioning the photo.

Nyong'o continued, "You led us into the land of Wakanda without ego, without pretense, without fear. We reap the benefits now squarely because of your courage, your fierce dedication, your intense passion, and your grueling workout regimen. And I will never get enough of the way you say the word "'because.'"

She then added, "We celebrate BREAKING BOX OFFICE RECORDS with @blackpanther for many reasons, but chief among them is because we had you as our king. Enkosi Kumkani [Thanks, King]!! And congratulations on your @rollingstone cover. From someone who loves you. #CoverCosplay."

Boseman channeled King T'Challa for his Rolling Stone cover, which was photographed by Norman Jean Roy, while Nyong’o took inspiration from her character, Nakia, for the striking remix, photographed by Vernon François.

Since its release, Black Panther has already racked up some impressive numbers: It's grossed over $400 million worldwide and $201.8 million during the Friday-Sunday weekend.

Black Panther, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Nyong'o, is in theaters now from Marvel Studios and from Disney, parent company of ABC News.
