The annual session of the Gospel Music Workshop of America will be held in Oklahoma City from Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20.
Sessions will be held at the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1020 NE 42nd St.
Registration periods will begin at 6 p.m. from Tuesday, June 17, through Thursday, June 19.
A musical will be presented at 7 p.m. on June 16 by the Oklahoma City chapter of the organization, and the chapter’s Women of Worship and Men of Promise presentations will be made.
During that event, schedules of the week’s activities will be distributed.
A musical featuring a number of gospel recording stars will be presented at 7 p.m. on June 20.
B. Chase Williams, a gospel recording singer, will present a class on “Creating an Effective Praise and Worship Experience.”
James Bigmon, another recording singer, will lead a workshop for adult choir-members, and Kevin Lemons, an additional recording star, will work with young adult choir-members.
Denae Brown of Oklahoma City will lead a workshop for children choir-members, and Francene Thomas, also from Oklahoma City, will work with youth choir-members.
The registration fee is $35 for adults, $10 for ages 13-17, and there is no registration fee for children ages 5-12.
Persons ages18-40 may purchase young adult memberships for $20 each.
