Abilene, TX – Langston lost a hard fought battle against its fourth NCAA Division 2 opponent in a row, the Hardin Simmons Cowboys, by a score of 30-29. After battling back from a double-digit deficit, the Lions managed to tie the score on a Sheldon Augustine touchdown. However, Langston could not convert the extra point attempt to force overtime, and ended up losing by 1 point.

Langston (1-2) football takes on NCAA Division II opponent Hardin-Simmons (1-1) this weekend in Abilene, Texas. Langston is coming off a 56-7 loss to Division II powerhouse North Alabama, but looks to finish its non-conference schedule with a strong performance this weekend.
Hardin-Simmons is averaging 25 points per game, and features a balanced attack with roughly 200 yards passing per game, and 124 yards on the ground.

The #23 Langston Lions (1-1) travel to Florence, Alabama this weekend to take on NCAA Division II powerhouse North Alabama (1-0). North Alabama is currently ranked #5 in the Division II standings, and are coming off an impressive 58-0 romp of Mississippi College. UNA rushed for 329 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win. Running back Tahj Kimball saw the most carries with 14.

Kirksville, MO - After their dramatic come from behind victory in Kansas City in Week 1, #23 Langston (1-1) headed back to Missouri for a date with NCAA Division II Truman State (1-1). The Bulldogs played a tight, defensive game with FCS Drake in their first game of the season, coming out on the losing end 13-7. September 13th provided the same defensive struggle, but Truman State came out on top in a low scoring affair 17-12.

Langston, coming off an impressive come from behind victory over Lincoln in the Missouri Classic, will look to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Bulldogs of Truman State are coming off a tough, defense dominated contest against Drake University, losing 13-7.

Kansas City, MO – The 2014 edition of the Missouri Classic at Arrowhead Stadium proved to be a classic indeed. After 4 quarters of heart-stopping football and a total 97 points scored, the #23 Langston Lions came back to defeat NCAA Division II Lincoln University 49-48.
