Two Medal of Honor Recipients Honored
Morris And Adkins Enter Hall of Fame

NORMAN--Two Medal of Honor recipients were honored during an Oct. 21 event held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, and became the two most recent persons inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame.
Both Sgt. First Class (ret.) Melvin Morris and Command Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Bennie Adkins were guests of honor at a reception and participated in a seminar with Reserve Officers Training Corps cadets before they were inducted into the hall of fame.
The induction of the two was announced by the Oklahoma Military Heritage Foundation.
SFC Morris was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism on a Vietnam battlefield more than four decades ago.
The Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame was founded in 1999 by Maj. Gen. Douglas O. Dollar, a Vietnam veteran.
Those inducted into the hall of fame include enlisted members and officers.
