Women Featured In Essence

Oklahoma National Guard Celebrates Contributions

Four women featured in the current edition of Essence magazine will appear on KRMP-FM (92.1) and KVSP-AM (1140) on “The Open Mic” on Friday, March 10.

The women are all congressional staff-members and are credited with helping establish the National Museum of African-American History & Culture.

The Feb. 17 edition of Essence, in which the four women are featured, is the “Change the World!” edition.

The edition celebrates the museum and the work of Kerri Speight Watson, Tammy Boyd, Donnice Turner and La Rochelle Young.

Kerri Speight Watson, founder and president of the nonprofit Politics and Pastries, has extensive federal government experience in the legislative process, policy analysis, writing, editing, and working with federal agencies.
