Students Raise $808,000
For Children in Hospital
Students from the University of Oklahoma raised more than $808,000 to benefit the sick and injured children of Oklahoma through Children’s Hospital Foundation, an affiliate of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
The 21st annual Soonerthon, presented by the University of Oklahoma Campus Activities Council and Student Life, took place on March 4 at the Sarkeys Fitness Center.
University students stood for 12 hours in support of the kids who can't and in celebration of the year-long fundraising efforts.
“We are thankful for the tremendous amount of effort and dedication that OU students exerted while raising awareness and funds for Children’s Hospital Foundation,” said Kathy McCracken, chief executive office of the fund.
“The amount they raised throughout this year on shows the true evidence that students want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. College students have a sense of community and understand the commitment of being philanthropic.”
