Suspects Said to stab, Transport Man’s Body Before Burning It

Two brothers and their girlfriends were charged with first-degree murder, accused in a fatal 2015 stabbing of a man whose body was moved and set on fire.

Investigators said Dennis Johnson Jr., 34, was killed out of revenge because he was believed by the suspects to have stolen money, guns and drugs from one of the couples.

Charged with first-degree murder are Derrick Tyrell Laday and his girlfriend, Anna Maria Cruz, and Aaron Tyrone Laday and his girlfriend, Theresa Mari McDonald.

They denied involvement in the killing, investigators reported.

The two couples and four others also were charged
