When Paul L. Hunter walked across the stage at Upper Iowa University and accepted his bachelor’s degree, he made history.
Mr. Hunter is the first of 21-sibling family to graduate from college.
The Wisconsin native has already become something of a celebrity, and has written a book.
After Mr. Hunter graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisc., in 1990, he didn’t stop there.
In 2005, he graduated with an associate’s degree in supervisory management from Gateway Technical; College.
Then, in 2012, he graduated from Upper Iowa with his coveted bachelor’s in business administration.
His tenacity has gained for Mr. Hunter a substantial amount of national publicity.
For example, he has been featured on “The Tom Joyner Show,” “The Armstrong Williams Show” and “The Johnnie O Gospel Show,” all nationally-syndicated radio broadcasts. He has also made numerous television appearances.
Newspapers and magazines (e.g., The Chicago Defender, The National Examiner and The San Antonio Express) have done feature stories on him.
Mr. Hunter’s book, “No Love, No Charity: the Success of the 19th Child,” was recently published. (Mr. Hunter is the 19th of 21 siblings.)
