Queen Simone: The extreme favorite heading into Rio, Simone Biles has not disappointed thus far. Already a gold medalist in the team competition, Biles won individual gold in the all-around on Thursday by a ridiculous margin.

Phelps wins again: Michael Phelps won his 22nd Olympic gold medal by absolutely blowing away the field in the 200-meter individual medley final. Ryan Lochte finished fourth in what could be his final race.

History made: Simone Manuel became the first African-American swimmer to win a gold medal when she tied for first in the 100m freestyle. She won silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay earlier in the games.

Don't forget about Aly: It might be easy to overlook, but Aly Raisman put together a phenomenal performance in the all-around as well, taking silver by nearly two points.

Back-to-back: American judoka Kayla Harrison won her second straight Olympic gold medal in the 78-kilogram division, beating France's Audrey Tcheumeo by armbar.

Backstroke machine: Ryan Murphy won gold in the 200m backstroke just three days after winning the 100m backstroke. Americans have dominated both races over the years, and Murphy is latest to carry the torch.
