A schoolteacher was charged the other day with three felony counts of sexual battery.
Curtis Lamont Lowe, who has been fired, is accused of inappropriately touching three female students at Southeast High School, 5401 S Shields Blvd., in 2015.
By phone Monday evening, Mr. Lowe said, “It’s a no-win situation.” He didn’t want to comment further.
Mr. Lowe, 43, of Midwest City, was charged in Oklahoma County District Court. He had worked for Oklahoma City Public Schools since 1999, a spokesman said.
Mr. Lowe taught science and coached at the school, the spokesman said. Mr. Lowe was terminated July 15.
Prosecutors say Mr. Lowe touched “the leg and butt” of each female without consent and in a lewd manner.
One accuser told police Mr. Lowe touched her inner thigh and then said, “Calm down, girl, you aren’t going to do anything,” police reported.
Another accuser said Mr. Lowe made a comment about her in front of the class that was sexual in nature, according to police.
A third accuser told police Mr. Lowe asked her “what sexual positions she had tried,” police reported.
Mr. Lowe was arrested July 5 and released from jail the same day on a $20,000 bond, jailers said.
