League Presents Awards
Several civic leaders and others were presented awards during the annual Membership Awards Banquet held by the Greater Metropolitan Oklahoma City Urban League.
A life-membership induction ceremony was held during the event.
After 7, the R&B singers, entertained.
Awards recipients were:
• Rohit Keshava, an executive with the Dell Corp., the recipient of the Board Member of the Year Award for championing the Dell Collaborative Learning Lab of the Urban League;
• The Scott Rice Co., the recipient of the Jay Galt Corporate Award for that firm’s support of the Dell Collaborative Learning Lab;
• Eric Woodworth, an executive with Enterprise Holdings, and Tajuana Brown, who is with the Oklahoma City Fire Department Training Center, recipients of the Volunteer of the Year Award; and
• Violet Ford, recipient of the Janice Scott Lee Award as Urban League Employee of the Year;
A special honorary Urban League Life Member presentation was made to Carl Holmes, one of the first 12 Black firemen in Oklahoma City.
