Hammack Seeking School Board Seat
Ad Agency Exec Wants to Improve Education

Bob Hammack, a member of the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools, who previously was president of the For Youth Initiative, announced that he is a candidate for a seat on the school board.
He is vying to become the District 1 school board member.
The election is set for Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Mr. Hammack, president of the New West Group, an advertising agency, said the For Youth Initiative works to improve high school graduation rates.
The District 1 school board candidate said he hopes to use his “wealth of experience” with civic organizations, and particularly with those working to improve public school education, to help lead the Oklahoma City effort to enhance education.
A member of the Downtown Rotary Club, Mr. Hammack was the 2010 Rotarian of the Year.
The school board candidate has made numerous trips overseas as part of Rotary Int’l.’s efforts to improve the lives of young people around the world.
Last year, Mr. Hammack was part of a delegation of Rotarians who attended the high school graduation ceremonies for 100 Turkish women who had learned to read, becoming the first women in their families to do so.
Mr. Hammack is a past chairman of the Oklahoma City Zoological Trust and previously was president of Zoofriends.
He has been a member of the boards of directors of Omniplex Science Museum and of the Neighborhood Services Organization.
In addition, the District 1 school board candidate has served as president of the Oklahoma Media Network and he has previously served on the board of the Oklahoma City Ad Club.
A Leadership Oklahoma alumni, Mr. Hammack graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1966 before going on to graduate from Oklahoma State University in 1971.
Mr. Hammack and his wife, Lauren Hammack, have been married 28 years and have three children, who attended public and private schools.
