50 ‘Famous Falcons’ Of Millwood High Honored

Fifty “famous Falcons” will be honored as Millwood High School celebrates its 50th anniversary next month.

The celebrations will begin as commencement ceremonies are held on Thursday, May 19, and that will be followed by a gala event on Friday, May 20, that will honor “Famous Falcons.”

The final event—a Falcon Festival–will be held on Saturday, May 21.

“The 50 ‘famous Falcons’ are from business, education, athletics, military service and a variety of other fields,” said Supt.  Cecilia Robinson Woods.

Among those to be honored are Joe Carter, who helped win the World Series; Oklahoma City Police Officer Wayland Cubid, who is founder of a mentoring organization.

Oklahoma City University Hall of Famer Kesha Watson, Coach Arnelia Spears, as well as Coach Varryl “Chop” Franklin.

Also to be honored are Millwood School Board Members Frances Percival and Marvin Provo.

Tickets for the gala may be purchased on Facebook at Millwood Enrichment Foundation or at Millwoodps.org.

There is no charge for attending the Falcon Festival.
