Ceremonies Held Today For Signing

LANGSTON—Agreement-signing ceremonies will be held today by Langston University and the NASA officials.

The agreement is for Langston’s and NASA’s involvement in an international space station payload delivery project.

Jim Bridenstine, the NASA administrator, will visit the campus today.

The NASA administrator will meet with the school’s program administrator and students who are conducting space research.

The Langston University/NASA Advanced Research in Biology Center is a project involving the Johnson Space Center to develop natural countermeasures through extracts from plants, a statement said.

Those extracts will help restore astronauts’ immune systems in space flight conditions, the statement said.

“Their important research will be applied during NASA’s planned mission to Mars,” the statement said.

The target date to launch the payload is August.
