Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to make NBA history after earning his second consecutive NBA Most Valuable Player award.
Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a historic season, becoming the first guard in NBA history to average 30 points per game while shooting 55 percent from the field over a full season.
The Thunder standout also joined Michael Jordan as the only players in league history to average at least 30 points, 5 assists, and shoot 50 percent or better from the field across four straight seasons.
ESPN reports Gilgeous-Alexander is the first player to win consecutive MVP honors since Nikola Jokic accomplished the feat in 2021 and 2022. He also becomes the first guard to capture back-to-back MVP awards since Stephen Curry won consecutive trophies in 2015 and 2016.
The achievement further solidifies Gilgeous-Alexander’s place among the NBA’s elite and adds another historic chapter to Oklahoma City basketball.
