Lee Is Appointed the Director of A DHS Division
Brittany Lee has been named director of child care services by the state Department of Human Services.
Mrs. Lee has nearly 20 years of professional experience in child care, a statement said.
Most recently, she was early childhood services operations supervisor of Sunbeam Family Services.
“The Department of Human Services should be a foundational partner in the development of an early childhood system that truly promotes greater access and quality,” said Justin Brown, director of DHS. “Brittany Lee is a transformational leader, bringing passion, experience and an innovative mindset to the team, and, under her leadership, the Division of Child Care Services will become a deep contributor to building a system that strives to achieve success for all Oklahoma children.”
Mrs. Lee will immediately begin a 200-day review of the division, the statement noted.
The statement said she will begin efforts to expand the division’s work with providers and community groups.
“My goal is to improve the division’s providing access to child care services,” Mrs. Lee remarked, “benefiting children and families.”
Mrs. Lee is the recipient of the Oklahoma Early Reading First Committed to Education Excellence Award and he Center for Early Childhood Professional Development Leadership Award.
She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree and received a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
