COMMUNITY LEADER MASOOD A. HAQQ ANNOUNCES HISTORIC RUN FOR OKLAHOMA CITY COUNCIL.

Respected community leader and author Masood A. Haqq, a dedicated advocate for the Ward 7 community, is running for the Ward 7 seat on the Oklahoma City Council. Mr. Haqq has tirelessly served the Ward 7 community as an entrepreneur, medical executive, small business and nonprofit consultant, community organizer, builder, and ally to people experiencing homelessness.

In 2012, Mr. Haqq and his wife, Dr. Jihan, moved from Atlanta to Oklahoma City to be closer to her family, led by respected Stanford University graduates Dr. Jihad and Joy Ahmad. Dr. Ahmad was formerly known as Charles Evans, a legendary Douglass Trojan on the hardwood. Upon moving to Oklahoma, Dr. Jihan worked briefly for her uncle, renowned pediatrician Dr. Wazir Ahmad, before opening Peace of Mind Pediatrics with Masood.

Mr. Haqq holds a Business Law degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, where he studied the intersection of law, policy and public service. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for CAIR Oklahoma and Secretary of the board for the OKC Black Chamber of Commerce.

“I had the privilege of meeting this young man about a decade & a half ago when he was my student at UCO,” said Judge/Professor Dr. Jennifer Barger-Johnson. “Always articulate. Always leading his peers. Always caring for others. I am beyond proud.”

If elected, Mr. Haqq envisions a future where Ward 7 thrives, and Oklahoma City flourishes, growing in size and prominence.

“OKC is on the cusp of becoming one of the greatest cities in the world. But it can only do that with a strong and thriving Ward 7. As goes Ward 7, so goes OKC.” Haqq said.

With a visionary leadership style and a proven record of successful service, Masood A. Haqq is not just a candidate but a well-qualified choice to serve as the next Ward 7 City Councilman.
