Red Dirt Rodeo Returns to OKC with Two Shows and High-Stakes Pony Express Tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — The 26th Annual Red Dirt Rodeo is set to bring excitement, culture, and community spirit back to Oklahoma City on Saturday, May 2nd at the all-new OG&E Coliseum, located at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. This year’s event promises a full day of action with two rodeos in one day, offering fans double the opportunity to experience one of the region’s most anticipated rodeo events.

The Red Dirt Rodeo continues its tradition of showcasing talented rodeo athletes while creating a family-friendly environment filled with thrilling competition and entertainment. A major highlight of this year’s event is the Red Dirt Pony Express Tournament, a crowd-favorite competition that will take place during both showtimes.

The 1 p.m. rodeo will kick off the tournament with eight teams competing for a chance to advance. Teams scheduled to participate include All In Cowboys, YFC, Country Boys, Spencer Most Wanted, W.A.C.G., 918 Boys, GHB, and Bobby and the Boys. The stakes are high, as only the top four teams will move forward.

Those advancing teams will return for the 7 p.m. rodeo, where they will compete in the championship round for the coveted Pony Express Tournament belt. Both shows will feature rodeo action, ensuring that attendees at either time experience the excitement and energy that defines the Red Dirt Rodeo.

Organizers emphasize that the event is designed to celebrate culture, community, and the legacy of rodeo, while also providing affordable entertainment for families across Oklahoma City and surrounding areas.
