Colorado College fails antisemitism report, university fares better

(The Center Square) – Colorado College received a failing grade on the recently updated Campus Antisemitism 2025 Report Card from the Anti-Defamation League.

The league gave the college a “D” grade and found the college’s response to antisemitism on campus “deficient.”

The University of Colorado, Boulder fared better on the report, receiving a “B” grade, meaning it is “better than most” higher education institutions in the U.S.

While Colorado College did not receive a ranking from the league in 2024, the University of Colorado, Boulder actually improved its 2025 grade from a “C” in 2024.

Going into the 2024-2025 school year, the league issued a commendation to University of Colorado, Boulder for the actions and policies implemented by the administration to combat antisemitism on campus. Colorado College did not receive that commendation.

The report detailed a number of incidents on Colorado College’s campus since the outbreak of pro-Palestine protests in 2023.

Those protests included a “teach-in” event at the college featuring posters with slogans like “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” in October 2023 and an anti-Israeli encampment on campus grounds in May 2024.

As recently as August 2024, a group of Jewish students filed a discrimination complaint against Colorado College, alleging the school allowed a “hostile antisemitic climate.”

That complaint has not yet been taken up, but the league also reported actions from the administration addressing antisemitism were “below expectations.”

In contrast, actions from the administration at the University of Colorado, Boulder, were “above expectations.”

While the university has had some antisemitic incidents over the past few years and the league still has some concerns with campus climate, the university has taken explicit steps to address antisemitism administratively.

It even went so far as to declare the campus chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine to be in bad standing, meaning as of October 2024, it can no longer operate on campus as a registered student organization.
