(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Associate Editor Greg Bishop reviews the back and forth over President Donald Trump’s executive order to begin the process of closing down the U.S. Department of Education and the possible impacts on Illinois.

Bishop also airs a Deerfield, Illinois, mother’s concerns of her daughter having to change in a locker room with a biological male identifying as a girl and the ongoing debate around the issue.

Finally, Bishop reviews the status of a measure at the Illinois statehouse to grant all local governments the ability to increase local gas taxes on top of the state’s gas tax, which is already second highest in the country.
