Anita Baker drops Babyface from her tour | Jimmie Allen’s career comes to a halt

Anita Baker and Babyface’s rocky road tour has come to an end. Anita made the decision to boot him off her Songstress tour because she revealed that she had reached her breaking point and felt the best course of action was to go about the tour alone.

Now for the past 24 hours, Anita says she has been forced to put up with violent threats on behalf of Babyface’s fanbase. She said she had to cut him from the tour for her own personal safety. Anybody who was salty about his absence for the remainder of the tour dates will be allowed to refund their tickets.

The week, of course, kicked off in shambles as Anita and Babyface’s fans engaged in online unpleasantries. Fans demanded that Anita bill Babyface as a co-headliner. But the tour is designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Anita’s debut album, “The Songstress.” So she wanted to stay on as the project’s headliner, on her own.

Well, it actually started in Newark, New Jersey, when the show turned into a nightmare. It was delayed for two hours. When it finally started, the audience was told there were technical issues and Babyface, the opening act, would not be performing. Well, honey, that’s when the booze started flowing, and that was it.

Now, you know what? I had an interview scheduled with Babyface. We’re trying to reschedule that for next week. But now we at least know why he had to cancel. There’s a lot going on. And Babyfaces said he would never say anything bad about Anita Baker. Of course, he would not. He’s a very classy guy. I hope this all works out.

Country singer Jimmie Allen has been dropped by his record label as he faces a second sexual assault allegation. You know, Allen’s skyrocketing career has come to a halt over two lawsuits, including one filed by his former day-to-day manager, who alleges that Allen raped her and that his management team failed to protect her from this predatory behavior.

Well, his music group, BBR, said in a statement that the Nashville-based label has dissolved its relationship with Jimmie Allen. He is no longer an active artist on its roster.

The first lawsuit filed in May and first reported by Variety, accused Allen of sexual trafficking, battery, and assault. Well, you know, everybody is dropping him. His management has dropped him. His agency UTA has dropped him.

And I have to say, I don’t know why some men think that the #MeToo movement is over. It’s not, and it is not going away.
