Celebrating half a century of tradition and festivity, the 50th Annual Bayou Classic unfolded with unprecedented excitement, marked by Prime Video’s enchanting contribution— the holiday film, Candy Cane Lane. On Thanksgiving Day, thousands of fans gathered to witness the parade. Bands, dance groups, and renowned brands brought the streets to life, with a standout feature — a custom Candy Cane Lane themed float designed by the renowned Kern Studios. Joining the float was the Southern University Southern Belles dance team who were outfitted with Candy Cane Lane sweatshirts and candy canes. Additionally, Amazon Music supplied free subscriptions to fans. Attendees loved the dancing in the streets and cheered as they made their way through the historic Canal Street.

Eddie Murphy is coming to town, bringing his trademark comedic chops to his first holiday film! The film reunites director Reginald Hudlin, Murphy, and producer Brian Grazer for the first time since their 1992 hit, Boomerang. The screenplay comes from Kelly Younger, inspired by his own holiday experiences on Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo, California.

Eddie Murphy stars in this holiday comedy adventure about a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest. After Chris (Eddie Murphy) inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances of winning, she casts a magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life, and wreaks havoc on the whole town. At the risk of ruining the holidays for his family, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper’s spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone.

Grammy Award-winning, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated multi-instrumentalist musician, songwriter and producer, Raphael Saadiq, dropped his new holiday single, “Miracle” featuring UK vocalist Kelli-Leigh, exclusively on Amazon Music. The original song from the beloved musician known for his deep musicality, contemporary creative vision, and encyclopedic knowledge of pop/R&B music, is featured in the new holiday film Candy Cane Lane.

“The song ‘Miracle’ is about, of course, a miracle. Once you see the film, you see all these amazing things happening – a little bit of beautiful magic between a family and a mother and father,” said Saadiq. “’Miracle’ just comes on and tells that whole story of how a family works.” As audiences listen to the words, he hopes they reflect on all they’ve seen over the course of the family’s Christmas journey.
