Chicago Gets Ready for Its Annual Gospel Music Festival

AURN INSPIRATIONAL, META WASHINGTON, AURNONLINE

The annual Chicago Gospel Music Festival will be held on June 3, 2023, at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at the Millennium Park. The family-friendly, free concert event will take place from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This year’s headliners are Karen Clark-Sheard and Tye Tribbett. The concert is held as an annual celebration of Chicago’s rich history of Gospel music. Performers will represent traditional and contemporary genres of gospel music mixed with urban sounds of Hip-Hop, House, R&B and pop from some of the most popular vocalists and choirs found locally and from around the country.

Jonathan McReynolds Announces June Dates for “My Truth Tour”

Jonathan McReynolds, now celebrating Your World,” his fifth-consecutive #1 single on the Billboard Gospel National Airplay, “has released a follow up from his latest album “My Truth, titled “Able” featuring Marvin Winans. The release comes just ahead of the continuation of his “My Truth Tour,” with new dates announced for June. “My Truth Tour”, in partnership with Compassion International, will kick-off its second leg in Savannah, GA on June 4th with additional concert stops scheduled for Pittsburgh, PA, St. Louis, MO, Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City, MO and Denver, CO. The final concert will be on June 27th in San Diego, CA. Tickets starting at $39.50 are available on Jonathan’s website.

“How Sweet The Sound” Returns to Atlanta

Hezekiah Walker & The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir Playlist

The “How Sweet the Sound,” gospel music competition will be holding this year’s event on June 3, 2023, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA. The competition, hosted by Donald Lawrence, who will also serve as a performer, will showcase emerging fresh faces in gospel music to vie for cash prizes and the title of best gospel choir. Judges will include some of the most outstanding gospel artists of our time including Hezekiah Walker, Tamela Mann, Jekalyn Carr, Ricky Dillard, and JJ Hairston. This year’s competition will include for the first time a “Best Spoken Word Artist” category in collaboration with the Ad Council’s Mental Health Initiative to elevate and encourage the importance of mental health in the Black community.

Minister Earl Bynum Debuts in Feature Film “New World Order: Dark Prince”

Stellar Award-winning gospel artist Earl Bynum is making his debut on the big screen in a suspense-thriller tiled “New World Order: Dark Prince.”  Bynum has been cast in the movie as a worship leader, a role he knows all too well. Dark Prince, inspired by the Bible’s book of Revelation, references prophetic events that have occurred throughout the Bible. The film was written and produced by Duane McCoy and co-produced by Antoinette McCoy. The plot involves a global cult who takes over the world and an LAPD sergeant who is battling with both grief and inner demons who is tasked with leading an underground militia who seeks to defeat the emerging evil empire. Dark Prince is currently being shown in select theaters across the U.S. through August.

Shekinah Glory MInistry, “Praise Is What I Do”

Platinum-selling gospel artists Shekinah Glory Ministry will have their stories of triumphs and trials told in a seven-episode documentary series entitled, “Shekinah Glory Ministry: Beyond the Praise”. A sneak preview of the first two episodes of the series will premiere on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Valley Kingdom Ministries International, Oak Forest, IL. The series will explore the twenty-year journey of the small suburban praise team that catapulted to overnight success and global recognition with signature song, “Praise is What I Do.”  The series begins with reflections of the visionary who launched the group, Apostle H. Daniel Wilson, and features interviews with industry luminaries, as well as members of the Shekinah Glory Ministry and its leadership staff.
