Evans and Gadson Among Those to Be Inducted by Hall

NORMAN—Two men with Oklahoma ties will be among 13 soldiers to be inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame in October in Norman.

Col. Gregory Dmitri Gadson and Col. (ret.)Stanley Levi Evans will be at the Embassy Suites Conference Center & Hotel, 2501 Conference Dr.Col. Evans also will receive the Maj. Gen. Douglas  O. Dollar DistinguishedService Award for service to veterans and support of community activities.

Col. Evans is a decorated Vietnam veteran, who was reared in Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Douglass High School in 1964 and entered the Army and served for 32 years, rising to the rank of colonel.

After he retired, graduated from the University ofOklahoma School of Law.Because of his outstanding scholastic and academic achievements in laws chool, upon graduation,

he was chosen as assistant dean of student affairs at the law school.Under his leadership, minority enrollment at the school increased 27 percent.He is a crusader for community youth.

Col. Evans has provided pro bono legal and financial advice to community and civic entities.
