Community Leaders Gather to Celebrate Derrick Sier Official Campaign Launch for House District 99

OKLAHOMA CITY — Last Thursday, the community came together at the Capitol View Event Center to celebrate the official campaign kick-off for Derrick Sier for House District 99.
Derrick is a lifelong Oklahoman, husband, father, friend, mentor, and a man of faith. He has spent his entire career working to better the lives of our youth and our community. He worked directly with leaders to host ManUp Retreats and juvenile intervention programs. He coordinated Breaking Bread events with the OK Justice Circle to bring the community together. Derrick worked on GearUp and TrIo to help our youth get access to quality education opportunities. As a nonprofit professional, he works to help community members find housing and jobs, and more.
Derrick is a small business owner who knows just how important it is to address the rising cost of living and make sure everyone has a fair shot to succeed regardless of their zip code. He has the experience necessary to bring this community together.
When asked about why he is running, Derrick said, “I am honored to put my name on the ballot to be your next State Representative. After working in the community for years, watching our kids and elders struggle to get by, I decided it was time to act. That’s why I’m running. To make sure our kids have access to quality public schools, our families have affordable housing, so folks don’t have to choose between paying the electric bill or putting food on the table. Our state and our district need a leader. I know I have the experience, relationships and qualities to get the job done and move us all forward, because we are better together.”
Derrick is a Democrat running for House District 99 and will be on the ballot on Tuesday, June 16th. His campaign is focused on education, economic development, healthcare access, affordable housing and a quality government that works for all of us.
