North Tulsa Native Dr. Corinice Wilson Enters Race for City Council District 1

TULSA, Okla. — Dr. Corinice Wilson, a lifelong North Tulsa resident, educator, researcher, and recognized community leader has announced her candidacy for Tulsa City Council District 1.
Running on a platform centered on Community, Collaboration, and Change (C3), Dr. Wilson is committed to bringing experienced, solutions-focused leadership to City Hall and ensuring that every resident of District 1 has a strong voice in shaping Tulsa’s future.
For more than three decades, Dr. Wilson has dedicated her career to strengthening communities, expanding educational opportunities, improving public safety through prevention, and advocating for children and families. Her campaign is built on the belief that District 1 deserves leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers measurable results.
“District 1 has always been the heart and soul of Tulsa,” said Dr. Wilson. “Our families deserve safe neighborhoods, thriving businesses, quality housing, and opportunities for every child to succeed. I am running because I believe we can accomplish more when we work together. The C3 Movement is about putting people first, building partnerships, and creating meaningful change that benefits every neighborhood.”
A native Tulsan and proud graduate of McLain High School, Dr. Wilson earned her doctorate in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology and Social Inequality from Oklahoma State University.
Throughout her career, she has secured millions of dollars in federal grant funding, supervised large teams, and led initiatives addressing youth violence prevention, higher education access, family support, and community development.
Dr. Wilson has served on numerous nonprofit and civic boards, including Youth Services of Tulsa, KIPP Tulsa, Big Brothers Big Sisters, OCCJ, and the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation. She currently serves on the City of Tulsa Beyond Apology Commission and has spent decades bringing together community organizations, educational institutions, law enforcement, and neighborhood leaders to solve complex challenges.
Her campaign priorities include:

  1. Invest in People, Stability, and Opportunity
  2. Focus on Resident-Centered Economic Opportunities and Neighborhood
    Safety
  3. Ensure accountable local government and measurable results
The campaign’s C3 message reflects Dr. Wilson’s belief that lasting progress comes through partnership. Community means putting people first. Collaboration means bringing residents, businesses, nonprofits, faith leaders, and city government together to solve problems. Change means delivering measurable results for the citizens of District 1.
“As someone who has spent my career solving problems rather than talking about them, I understand the importance of listening before leading,” Dr. Wilson said. “I want every resident to know that this campaign belongs to all of us. Together, we can build a stronger District 1 and a stronger Tulsa.”
Community members are invited to join the C3 Movement by volunteering, hosting neighborhood conversations, attending Campaign Rally’s every Saturday Morning, and sharing ideas for the future of District 1.
