OKC Ward 7 Councilman Camal Pennington to Host Town Hall

OKLAHOMA CITY — Everyone is invited to a town hall moderated by Ward 7 Councilman Camal Pennington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, at Metro Tech, 1900 Springlake Drive. The event will be held in rooms G and H of the Big III Banquet Hall.
Councilman Pennington will emcee a panel discussion covering the 2025 Bond program, code enforcement, animal welfare, other Development Center-related topics, along with One Transit, formerly the Regional Transit Authority.
Attendees will also get updates about the Public Safety Partnership, LA28, OKC’s housing shortage, tenant rights and upcoming events.
After the presentations, attendees can visit with city staff and provide input.
“We have a lot to talk about in this meeting,” Councilman Pennington said. “Not only is Northeast OKC preparing to hold two Olympic events in 2028, but we have 2025 bond projects to look forward to and a new transit option developing. The meeting is also an opportunity to learn how code enforcement can improve our neighborhoods.”
Ward 7 includes Northeast Oklahoma City but extends into the southeast and northwest parts of the city.
Councilman Pennington was elected to the OKC City Council in April 2025. He serves as the Executive Director of It’s My Community Initiative (IMCI), where he leads efforts to empower families and strengthen our neighborhoods in Oklahoma City. Before his work at IMCI, he worked in higher education as the Director of Annual Giving and Admissions at the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
