Second Suspect Arrested in Arcadia Lake Shooting

EDMOND, Okla. — A second suspect police were searching for in connection with the mass shooting at Arcadia Lake last week has been arrested.
Trinity Brown, a 20-year-old woman from Oklahoma City, was booked into the Edmond City Jail after the investigation led to her, according to law enforcement. Brown in charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm after juvenile adjudication.
Edmond Police did not share how they believe Brown is connected to the shooting. The affidavit and application for Brown’s arrest is under seal per an Oklahoma County judge’s order.
One person was killed – 18-year-old Avianna Smith Gray – and 24 people were injured in the shooting at a gathering held at the Scissortail Campground at Arcadia Lake on Sunday, May 3. The event had been promoted on social media as “Sunday Fun Day,” though no one had applied for a permit to host such a large-scale event.
Reports indicate that an argument between two women escalated into a fight between rival gangs. At least 80 rounds were fired during the shooting, according to Edmond Police Chief J.D. Younger. Victims injured in the shooting ranged in age from 15 to 30.
On Wednesday, May 6, 18-year-old Jaylan Davis turned himself in after police secured a warrant for his arrest. A person of interest told investigators Davis had recently been involved in gang activity in Oklahoma City, according to court documents.
Oklahoma County District Attorney, Vicki Zemp Behenna, said she would file a charge of Felony Murder in the First Degree against Davis.
“This case is a devastating reminder of the growing impact of gun violence among young people in our community,” said DA Behenna. “A young woman lost her life, countless families were forever changed, and an event that should have ended with everyone going home safely instead became a scene of tragedy. We cannot continue to accept this level of violence involving our youth as normal. Meaningful efforts to reduce gun violence and prevent these incidents must be a priority for all of us, including parents, community leaders, educators, law enforcement, and the justice system alike.”
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police say that more suspects may be involved.
