Sooner State Party Announces Dual Petition Signing Events

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Sooner State Party will hold two public petition-signing events on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, as part of its statewide effort to collect 35,000 valid signatures required to qualify for placement on the 2026 Oklahoma general election ballot.
The events are open to the public and are designed to make it easy for Oklahoma voters to participate through a “Drive By & Sign” format.
The Oklahoma State Capitol Area Petition Event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on the South Steps of the Oklahoma State Capitol building, 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
The Edmond Petition Event will also be held on Saturday, January 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Edmond Municipal Library, 10 S. Blvd., Edmond, OK 73034.
Both events will allow registered Oklahoma voters to sign the official petition in person. Volunteers will be on site to assist voters and answer questions about the petition process.
About the Petition
The Sooner State Party is working to collect the required 35,000 signatures by the statutory deadline of Feb. 20, 2026, in order to qualify as a recognized political party and appear on the 2026 ballot. Party leaders say the effort is focused on expanding voter choice and providing an alternative political home for Oklahoma voters, particularly independents.
“Our goal is simple: give Oklahoma voters more options and a stronger voice in the political process,” Executive Director Reagan Burns said. “These petition events are about accessibility, participation, and making democracy work for everyone.”
All registered Oklahoma voters are encouraged to attend either event. Voters may sign the petition at either location regardless of party affiliation. For additional information about the petition effort or future events, members of the public may contact the Sooner State Party directly at soonerstatepartyok@gmail.com or call C.J. Webber-Neal at (572) 910-5365.
