Three More Arrested in Connection with Arcadia Lake Shooting

EDMOND, Okla. — Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the May 3rd shooting at Arcadia Lake.
The ongoing investigation led to the arrests of 19-year-old Makhi Magness, 20-year-old Hezekiah Ricks and 20-year-old Omarion Gabriel on Wednesday. The three men were arrested by the Edmond Police Department with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service.
So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with the incident which left 18-year-old Avianna Smith-Gray dead and two dozen people injured. Reports indicate that argument at an event advertised as a “Sunday Fun Day” at the Scissortail Campground at Arcadia Lake escalated into gang-related violence. Law enforcement reported that roughly 80 rounds were exchanged during the conflict.
Officials reported that Magness is accused of shooting with the intent to kill, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony, and other gang-related offenses. Ricks and Gabriel are charged with accessory to a first-degree murder.
Others arrested and charged in connection with the shooting include Marcus Kane Jones, Jaylan Davis, Daviion Wyckoff, Breonn Morton, Trinity Brown and an unnamed juvenile, a 16-year-old male.
Court documents indicate that Davis and Wyckoff had planned to retaliate against gang members in attendance at the lake gathering, who they had blamed for stealing a gun and marijuana.
On May 3, Jones allegedly sent several messages asking others to bring him a firearm, stating, “Something’s about to go down at the lake.” That message was sent at 9:06 p.m., and at 9:07 p.m. Edmond police began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting.
Court documents state Wyckoff was shot during the gunfire and hospitalized.
Court documents also state Brown was seen on video standing over a victim, holding a gun and threatening to kill the victim if she moved or said anything.
