Kara Smith has been named general counsel of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.
In that position, she will lead the agency’s Legal Services Division.
The agency works to improve health care outcomes, contain costs and ensure program accountability.
The newly-named legal counsel will make legal recommendations, and counsel the agency’s leadership team and board of directors on the agency’s regulatory and compliance efforts, potential challenges and strategic direction.
Previously, she was chief of the Office of Civil Rights Enforcement of the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office.
She is graduated with a juris doctorate degree from the school of Law of Oklahoma City University.
