Green is Offered a Police Chief’s Post in Minnesota

Former Boley Police Chief Virgil Green has been offered the police chief’s position in Golden Valley, The Black Chronicle has learned.

Mr. Green, who also previously had been chief of police in Spencer, was the sole finalist for the Golden Valley position.

The announcement was made by Golden Valley City Manager City Manager Tim Cruikshank and Deputy City Manager Kirsten Santelices.

“Green has worked in law enforcement for 38 years in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas,” a statement said.

“In addition to serving as chief of police in Boley and Spencer, he has been police chief in Helena-West Helena, Ark., and was recently named deputy police chief of the Tulsa Public School District.

The former Boley police chief has received a “conditional offer,” according to the city manager.

The offer will not be final until Green passes background checks and a state reciprocity exam.

The city estimated that the process would be complete in six to eight weeks.

A native of New Mexico, Mr. Green graduated with a bachelor’s degree in police administration from American Military University.
