Illinois quick hits: Mail carriers to picket; measles spreads to Lake County

Mail carriers to picket

The Illinois State Association of Letter Carriers will hold an informational picket Monday to voice their objections to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s “Delivering for America” plan during his upcoming visit to Downers Grove.

Carriers said the ongoing implementation of a restructuring will impact daily collection, delivery and processing of mail. The plan includes the elimination of mail processing at Processing and Distribution Centers located in Champaign, Springfield, Peoria and the Quad Cities.
