Third of 1% register banned guns

Around 0.34% of Firearm Owners ID card holders in Illinois have registered a banned item with Illinois State Police. The latest gun ban registry numbers from ISP released Monday show just over 8,100 individuals disclosed a total of 24,381 banned items. There are more than 2.4 million FOID card holders in the state. Pending court action, the deadline to register is Jan. 1.

Migrant center health concerns

Another child is hospitalized with similar symptoms at a migrant shelter where a 5-year-old boy died over the weekend. A spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department said several sick children have been hospitalized due to symptoms of fever and illness. The Chicago Department of Health is investigating the boy’s death and illnesses at several migrant shelters around the city.

Second-hand vase gets six-figures

A vase bought at Goodwill for less than $4 has just fetched six figures at a Chicago auction house. The Italian glass vase sold for $107,000 at Wright Auctions. Jessica Vincent said she was a regular shopper at the Goodwill store and noticed the vase immediately. She called the windfall a “blessing.”
