“Big George Foreman” Hits Movie Theaters

GRU, George Foreman Biopic

The biopic story of world heavyweight champion boxer turned preacher George Foreman opened recently in theaters nationwide. “Big George Forman” starring actor Khris Davis, who plays Forman, chronicles Forman’s journey from humble beginnings in Houston, Texas, where he joins the Job Corps and meets Charles “Doc” Broadus, played by Forest Whitaker, who trains him to become a boxer. Within a year of his boxing career, Forman won an Olympic gold medal, and he won the world heavyweight title once he turned 24. Forman became a pastor after a religious experience and later made an unprecedented return to boxing in middle age, becoming the oldest world champion.

“I Hear Music in the Air” Coming up in Cincinnati

The I Hear Music in the Air Conference, celebrating its sixteenth year in Cincinnati, OH. The conference will kick off with “The Healing Power of Music” workshop series, with classes given by special guest clinicians Gene Hoskins, Charles Jenkins, and others. The musical concert will be held that evening at the Corinthian Baptist Church on Saturday, May 6th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This year’s concert theme and mission is “Music Matters,” and will feature performances by Pastor John P. Kee, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Mali Music and VaShawn Mitchell.

Gospel Artist DOE Gets Engaged

GRU, Gospel Artist , DOE is engaged to Musician, Orlando Palmer

Congrats to gospel singer DOE, who took to her Instagram page recently to announce her engagement to fellow artist Orlando Palmer who goes by the stage name IAMSON. Is a singer/songwriter, producer, and mental health advocate. “So it begins,” was the beginning of the IG caption beneath the pic of the adoring couple with DOE showing off her ring finger. DOE, an artist on Jonathan McReynolds’ Life Room label is currently out on the road with Elevation Rhythm for Lecrae’s Final Church Clothes Tour.

“Praise Fest 2023” Lineup Announced for Columbus, GA

GRU, Praise Fest 2023, JJ Hairston

Columbus, GA is getting ready for “Praise Fest 2023,” named the biggest outdoor concert in the tri-city. The free concert will be taking place at the Woodruff Riverfront Park from 12:00pm – 4:00pm and features an all-star lineup of artists from all parts of the nation including JJ Hairston, Lamont Sanders, Amethyst, Rizen, Group Fire, Isabel Davis, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Anisa, Casey J and others. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and there will be a tent area available as well as food and prizes.

Louisiana Teen Accepted to 170 Colleges Says “I Keep God First”

Dennis Maliq Barnes, a 16-year-old high school senior from Louisiana has an incredible testimony of faith and success. Barnes received acceptance to 170 colleges and additionally has been offered $9 million in scholarships. Barnes who achieved a 4.98 GPA, graduated two years earlier than most and said behind his success is a loving family, friends and unyielding faith in God. “I am a God-fearing young man; I keep God first.” “If you keep your school, your education a priority and keep God in the mix, then you are definitely going to be successful no matter what you do,” Barnes said during a television interview with CNN. Barnes’ school authorities reportedly have reached out to the Guinness Book of World Records, to “make it official” according to a statement issued by Clark Castle, a spokesman representing both the school and Barnes.
