A spokesman for the Oklahoma County Jail said an inmate died earlier this week.
Officials said Jimmy Bedford, 60, died at a local hospital on Tuesday.
Before a court appearance Tuesday, at approximately 9:40 a.m., an officer noticed Mr. Bedford looked ill, the spokesman said.
He was taken to the medical unit for evaluation, according to a report.
Authorities said while there, Mr. Bedford went into cardiac arrest.
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation was administered and an ambulance was called, the report said.
