Minority Entrepreneurship Initiative Pushed by Bill
State Sen. George E. Young Sr. (Dem., Oklahoma City) has filed a bill that would encourage the Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education to use appropriated funds to support minority entrepreneurship.
State Senate Bill 1267 wants the regents to give financial support to business organizations, creating business plans or models, accounting, business financing options and other subjects that would assist minority entrepreneurs in the state.
“An emphasis would be placed on allocating resources to institutions within the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education that have a high likelihood of servicing minority populations or communities,” a statement said.
