Chimere Grant Announces Candidacy for Oklahoma House District 97:

Running for Safer Neighborhoods, Stronger Schools, and Real Opportunity for Families!

Chimere Grant is a Millwood Alum and longtime community advocate. A mother of three and committed public servant. Grant announced her candidacy for Oklahoma House District 97, and her campaign will focus on practical and measurable solutions to improve everyday life for working families.  Including, safer neighborhoods, well-resourced schools, affordable housing, accessible healthcare, and expanded economic opportunity.

Chimere has partnered with churches, local organizations, and neighborhood leaders to support youth programs, strengthen families, and connect residents to vital services. These experiences shaped her belief that effective leadership must be accessible, compassionate, and accountable — and policy should be driven by the needs the residents share across kitchen tables across District 97.

“Working together, we can get it right,” said Grant. “I’m running for the Oklahoma House because our families deserve streets free of gun violence, stronger schools, and high wage jobs that are in our neighborhoods, I will listen, act with transparency, and build practical solutions that lift up everyone in District 97.”

– Economic opportunity: Promote workforce development, support small businesses, and advocate for fair wages and targeted investments that create sustainable local jobs.

– Quality, affordable housing: Reduce barriers to affordable housing and support programs that help families remain housed.

– Accessible healthcare and support for vulnerable populations: Expand access to quality care and services for seniors, veterans, and families in need.
