Home to the borough of Norristown, Montgomery County has a population of 850,890 people, 17.7% of whom are retirement age.
One reason the county stands out among other parts of the state is the concentration of primary care physicians. There are 132.8 doctors for every 100,000 people in the county, compared to just 81.1 per 100,000 across the state as a whole.
