Freezing rain creates treacherous travel conditions

Freezing rain is making travel treacherous in Illinois on Monday. Numerous accidents were reported in central Illinois as a thin layer of ice coated roads. School districts have switched to remote learning and officials are warning of possible power outages. Temperatures are expected to increase throughout the day, but some areas may not get above freezing, so the freezing rain could stick. Many areas of the state will see temperatures in the 40s later this week.

The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, offers a program called “The Chicago Public Schools Project.” The organization has come under scrutiny over its alleged ties to Hamas. The White House condemned comments made by CAIR’s director in October, who said he was happy to see the events when Hamas terrorists attacked Israel.

Despite news that Rivian may soon unveil a more inexpensive electric vehicle, the company’s stock price continues to suffer after an analyst issued a downgrade. A Deutsche Bank analyst said other issues like uncertainty about when Rivian will start making a profit prompted the lowering of the 12-month target price for the company’s stock by $10 to $19 per share.
