(The Center Square) – Police say eight teens were charged and 24 curfew violations were issued after a crowd of more than 100 young people gathered in downtown Chicago on Wednesday night.
Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins said in a social media post that the situation was out of control until a curfew order was issued.
MOMENCE MAN FACES CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL CHARGES
The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s office has approved child sex abuse materials charges against a Momence man.
Illinois State Police say they arrested Timothy M. Kleinert, 31, after receiving an online tip and collecting electronic evidence at the suspect’s home on Wednesday.
Kleinert is charged with unlawful possession and dissemination of child sexual abuse material.
Anonymous tips of child sexual abuse materials can also be reported through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Cyber Tipline.
IL SPORTS BETTING DECLINES AGAIN
The Illinois Gaming Board’s Sports Wagering Report for January shows a fifth consecutive monthly decline since the state implemented a per-wager tax last year.
The Sports Betting Alliance says a 20% drop in legal sports betting during the Chicago Bears’ playoff run shows that bettors are leaving Illinois’ legal market for illegal sites and bookies.
