Feds awards grants to Illinois airports

‘The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Thursday it has granted airports across Illinois over $37 million for operational and infrastructure improvements.

The 12 Illinois airports receiving grants include Scott Air Force Base and MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, receiving $3.5 million, as well as airports in Rockford, Marion and Moline.

Bikers raise more than $1 million for St. Jude

Weather has altered the route for the annual ride for St. Jude. Over 150 riders fired up their motorcycles in Peoria and headed to Centralia Thursday.

The 18th annual St. Jude Ride had to change the destination from Memphis to Centralia after Hurricane Francine made landfall and dumped heavy rain on Tennessee. The riders raised over a million dollars for St. Jude.

Morris woman wins $3 million on scratch-off

A Morris woman has won $3 million from an Illinois Lottery scratch-off ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K gas station in Channahon. The woman won the top prize on a $30 “$3,000,000 Super Bonus” ticket, which launched in July.

She said she plans to invest, remodel the house and travel, all in that order. For selling the ticket, the Circle K will receive a bonus of $30,000.
