Fight breaks out at academy

A fight broke out between around 75 cadets at Lincoln’s ChalleNGe Academy in Rantoul Wednesday night, with dozens of police units responding to the scene.

The Rantoul Police Department received a report of a large fight. According to police, Rantoul officers responded to the scene and immediately requested units from outside agencies. They report that the situation is currently being “sorted out,” and video cameras and other footage are being reviewed to see who the instigators were and who may have committed crimes.

More indictments for jailed former CEO

Former Reditus Labs CEO Aaron Rossi is in trouble again. Rossi has been indicted on charges of possessing contraband in jail.

According to the indictment, Rossi was found to be in the possession of synthetic weed, a battery and a vape pen.

Rossi is in custody after being accused of defrauding the state of Illinois and health insurance companies out of hundreds of thousands of dollars during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Airport transit system down

Just as spring break travel heats up, the Airport Transit System at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport broke down Thursday morning.

Shuttle buses were called in to transport passengers between economy parking and all airport terminals. Airport officials wrote on X that engineers were working to restore service but to allow for extra time.
