Juveniles charged with robbery
Chicago police have charged an 11-year-old boy with robbing a senior citizen on a CTA train.
The boy and a 14-year-old girl allegedly robbed a 62-year-old man on a Red Line train May 24. Both juveniles are charged with robbery of a victim over the age of 60.
Police said the girl also robbed another man at a different train station a short time later.
Train collides with semi
Amtrak officials are revealing more details regarding a train versus semi-truck crash Wednesday in southern Illinois. The train was traveling from Chicago to Carbondale and was just north of its final destination when it collided with a semi that was obstructing the tracks.
There were 30 passengers onboard at the time, but no one was injured. Amtrak officials said the train was able to continue to Carbondale after nearly a 3-hour delay.
Behavioral health program picks Illinois
Illinois has been selected as one of 10 states to participate in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Medicaid Demonstration Program designed to expand access to coordinated mental health care and substance use services,
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, which administers the Illinois Medicaid program, identified 19 mental health and substance use treatment providers across the state to participate in the demonstration program, which aims to build on the department’s ongoing work to expand access to behavioral health services statewide.
