Police seek help in Teutopolis fatal crash
The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle possibly involved in a crash Friday near Teutopolis that resulted in several fatalities and multiple injuries.
The crash involved a semi-truck tanker carrying anhydrous ammonia that was punctured and leaked and resulted in the deaths of five people. ISP agents are in Casey, Montrose, and Teutopolis communities retrieving surveillance video that could provide more information into the incident.

Power restored in Dupo
Power and internet service has been restored in the southern Illinois community of Dupo after a garage fire Monday.
Multiple fire departments responded to the blaze, which spread to nearby power lines and knocked out power to the entire town. There were reports of ammunition going off during the blaze. No one was injured.

A 104-year-old Illinois woman is hoping to be certified as the oldest person to ever skydive. Dorothy Hoffner of Chicago made a tandem jump Sunday and landed 13,500 feet at an Ottawa airport.
The Guinness World Record for the oldest skydiver was set in 2022 by a 103-year-old woman in Sweden. Skydive Chicago is now working to have Hoffner’s jump certified as a record. Hoffner first skydived when she was 100.
