REAL ID deadline approaches

Officials are reminding citizens beginning May 7, anyone over 18 years old will be required to present a REAL ID to board domestic flights and enter certain federal facilities or military bases.

REAL ID is not required to drive, vote or enter state-owned buildings. The new requirements were years in the works, but were delayed by court action from various states pushing back on implementation.

Career Spark STEAM this week

Hands-on, interactive work and career readiness will be the focus of the Career Spark STEAM Expo in Springfield Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology is joining education groups and private sector partners from across the state at the Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds with activities for more than 2,000 8th grade Springfield area students.

DuPage County government hit by cyber incident

Several agencies within DuPage County government were impacted by a cyber incident Monday.

Fox 32 Chicago reports the county was made aware Monday morning that the sheriff’s office, and several court offices were made aware of the issue. The county contacted federal officials to investigate.
