Illinois quick hits: Reward increases for 2008 homicide case; local farmers featured in commercial

Reward increases for 2008 homicide case

More reward money is being offered to help solve the murders of five women 16 years ago at a Tinley Park clothing store. The case is still unsolved, despite a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those involved in the shootings.

On Sunday, Tinley Park residents and community activists announced an additional $3,000 to be offered. In 2008, Tinley Park police said a man posing as a delivery driver pulled a gun on the women and forced them into a back room, where he shot them.

Local farmers featured in commercial

Illinois fans tuning into this weekend’s big game may see some familiar faces in a new commercial featuring five Illinois farm families.

The commercial, titled “Career Path,” will air during Super Bowl LVIII, Feb. 11, and is designed to raise awareness of locally owned farms. The commercial will air in several Illinois cities, including Champaign, Peoria, Bloomington, Quincy and Springfield.

Sotheby’s dubbed the shoes the “Dynasty Collection.” Jordan first gave a shoe to a team executive after their first championship in 1991 and continued the tradition afterward.
